The architecture of the house is continuing the modern theme of the original structure, while introducing new design elements and materials. The existing mature trees and landscape became critical to the orientation and placement of the addition. The majestic black walnut tree is a main focus, an anchor to interior views and axis, as well as providing shadows of ornament to the intentionally monolithic stucco walls of the building.
Included in the main floor program is a new Kitchen, Dining, Family Room and minor alterations to the existing Foyer and Utilities. The upper floor includes an expanded Master Bedroom Suite and Roof Terrace. Due to the sloping topography, the Lower level becomes exposed, and offers similar views, and as such becomes useable living space as an Exercise Room, Home Office, Wine Cellar and Gallery.
